Florida Telehealth<\/h1>\n

During the 2019, legislative session, Florida passed into law section 456.47, Florida Statutes<\/a>, which established standards of practice for telehealth services, including patient evaluations, record-keeping, and controlled substances prescribing. The law also authorizes out-of-state health care practitioners to perform telehealth services for patients in Florida. Signed by the Governor on June 25, 2019, this law became effective on July 1, 2019.<\/p>\n

Out-of-state health care practitioners must be registered with the Florida Department of Health to perform telehealth services for patients in Florida. Complete the Out-of-State Telehealth Provider Registration application online, or submit the paper application, found at https:\/\/www.flhealthsource.gov\/telehealth\/files\/application-telehealth-provider-registration.pdf<\/a>
\nor in the \u201cDocuments\u201d link at the bottom of the page.<\/p>\n

To apply online, login to the MQA Portal at Login Option – MQAServicesPortal (state.fl.us)<\/a>. Then from the \u201cChoose a Board\/Council\u201d drop-down menu, select \u201cOut-of-State Telehealth Providers.\u201d Next, select your profession from the \u201cChoose a Profession\u201d drop-down menu. After making all of your selections from the drop-down menus click on the blue \u201cSelect\u201d button.<\/p>\n

Out-of-State Telehealth Provider Registration in Florida is for health care practitioners licensed outside of Florida ONLY.<\/p>\n

Current Florida licensees are able to provide telehealth services to patients in Florida without additional licensure; please do not apply for Out-of-State Telehealth Provider Registration in Florida.<\/p>\n
